JBL GTO938 Review

The JBL GTO938 is a budget 6×9 speaker with high end features. It features a midrange tweeter as well as a super tweeter to ensure great sounding mids and highs. The materials are lightweight and of high quality strenght and are constructed using JBL’s Edge-Driven, Mylar-Titanium technology to ensure a powerfull yet clear sound. The result is a 6×9 speaker thats powerful, durable and sounds amazing.

Some of the Standout Features

  • Built-in Crossover Networks – Most 6×9 speakers make use of bass blockers to retain a more effective high sound within the tweeters. The JBL GTO938 makes use of a built-in crossover network that makes use of advanced High and Low Pass Filters. The low pass filters redirect the mids and lows to the woofer and the midrange tweeter while the high pass filter pushes the treble through to the super tweeter
  • True 4-Ohm Topology – The JBL GTO938 6×9 speakers makes use of low impedance speaker voice coils to extract more power from the amp which in turn creates a more powerfull performance. The speakers are compatible with factory or aftermarket car stereos. Most factory radios are set to work with 2-ohm speakers. But the JBL’s will perform better with its 4-Ohm technoligy because it will draw less power from the unit whilst playing a much more powerful sound.
  • Plus One Cone – The JBL GTO938 6×9 speakers makes use of the companies Plus One Technology which gives the speakers more cone surface space than its rivals. The speakers will be able to produce better sounding bass given the extra surface space.
  • Low Distortion – The unit can play at very high volumes with minimal distortion for long periods of time. This is attributed to JBLs years of experience in the field of manufacturing car audio.

Should You Get One?

JBL is a brand that si seen in high regard by car audio enthusiasts. The GTO series is regarded as a fan favorite for its amazing sound quality. The price is excellent for a set of speakers of this quality. The only issue is that the styling might not be to everyones liking. Its very plain and not plain as in a minimilistic style. it just looks boring and uninspired. But the sound on the other hand is a direct contrast to that. If you are on a budget and are looking for an all round solution to beef up the sound in your car, then Yes! It will also be a good speaker to use as a replacement for the standard factory installed car speakers.
