Zack Snyder has literally been at the centre of the DC universe during the last few years. He managed to complete a trio of excellent movies that featured our favourite superheroes such as Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman.
Snyder has also been at the centre of anything DC News related. And not always for good reason. The last bit of big news from his side was him leaving the Justice League movie. Zack Snyder posted hints towards his vision of what the Justice League and the future of DC movies were supposed to look like. These are intriguing comments which raise the big question. Is Snyder going to be involved in future projects?
Zack Snyder Reveals Why Superman is Evil in BvS’ Knightmare Scene
In recent weeks, Zack Snyder has been more open about his work on previous DC movies. He has confirmed some easter eggs in BVS as well as reveal why Superman was so evil in Batman’s dream sequence. The Man of Steel that we see in the Batman dream is one of pure evil and hatred. Zack Snyder’s explanation for this is that Superman is angry because Louis Lane had been killed.
Louis Lane’s death will cause Superman to seek revenge and will render him “susceptible to a certain Equation,” as per Snyder. He could be talking about the Anti-Life Equation here and the death of Louis will force Superman to life in this state. This could be part of the premise for the next Justice League movie. There has not been any mention of a Justice League 2 so far. But Warner Bros are busy enough to release a reasonable amount of movies in the next few years.
But if there ever is a Justice League 2 movie, will Superman be the main protagonist? Will he be the one who is led to join forces with Darkseid?
Zack Snyder And Ray Fisher Hint At Justice League Director’s Cut
The Justice League Movie had experienced some tremendous post-production drama. Zack Snyder made the decision to leave the project due to a family emergency. The movie and story at this point were almost wrapped up. But it required someone of a similar presence as Snyder to finish the Movie in time for its release. So Warner Bros brought in ex-Marvel Avengers director Joss Whedon to complete the Justice League while adding some Marvel Magic to the movie.
Whedon re-wrote a big chunk of the script as well as orchestrated some extensive re-shoots. This did indeed change the entire style and tone of the movie. A tone and style that suited the WB execs. But fans were not overall pleased with this and they started to demand Zack Snyders Version. If there was one. Well, Ray Fisher (who plays Cyborg in Justice League) and Snyder have just hinted that there just may be a Snyder cut.
Fisher uploaded a still from a deleted scene of him playing football. He posted a comment under saying “Life doesn’t always go how we plan it. The only thing we can do is keep reaching for what we believe. #BORGLIFE #LoveRay.” Immediately after that, Snyder responded by saying “Belief”.
There has been no such “football scene” in the theatrical version of the movie which means that there is a version of the movie that differs drastically from Whedon’s re-shot version. This is the Snyder Cut that everyone is waiting to see. DC fans have been going on since the release of the movie and are demanding to get this original version of the film.
