The Xiaomi Mi A1 isn’t a fairly new device. Its design alone will tell you that. But what you get for just over $200 is exceptional. The hardware may seem dated with its large bezels. It may also seem like an iPhone 7 knockoff. But the software experience is a pure Android experience. The Android One experience to be more precise.
Let’s take a look at the Mi A1 and its Android software offering.

The Xiaomi Mi A1 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 Octa-Core Processor. The performance that you will get out of this smartphone is snappy and quick. It will get you in and out of all your social networks easy. You will also be able to game with ease on most Play Store titles.
There are dual 12MP cameras at the rear and a 5MP camera at the front. They may not be up to standard with modern flagship smartphones, but you will be able to get some decent pictures with the A1.
- 5.5-inch display
- Full metal body
- Octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor with 4GB RAM
- Rear fingerprint sensor
- 3080mAh battery
- Dual 12MP rear cameras and 5MP front facing camera
- Pure Android One Experience
The Xiaomi Mi A1 is a genuine device that will not disappoint. You get a lot for what you pay here. In comparison, you could opt for a similarly priced smartphone such as the Honor 7X. With the Honor, you will get similar performance with an updated design. But in terms of software, I don’t think the Honor is better than Android One.
Android One is as stock as it gets. No extra bloatware and addition apps from the manufacturer. Huawei is known for adding their own skin on top of Android, which in turn takes away from the whole experience.
